Hey All! Since the Continuist works out of the Arts and Contemporary Studies program at Ryerson, we figured fellow ACS-ers – and any other Ryerson students – would like to hear about this as well! The ACS Course Union is putting on a super neat clothing drive. Below for details:
WHEN: March 1st – April 1st.
- All cash proceeds benefit Covenant House Youth Shelter, located in the Ryerson neighbourhood. Why Covenant House? As Canada’s largest youth shelter, Covenant house opens their doors for shelter and assistance to homeless youth. They provide a safe space with 24/7 crisis care, and services such as education, counseling, health care and employment assistance. Their doors are open to youth ages 16-24 regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or the circumstances that have brought them to the shelter. To do this, they rely on donors for 80% of their operating budget. That means you!
- Instead of tossing your clothing and accessories into the garbage (we’ve all seen the curbs of student houses…) why not recycle them, avoiding the landfill and placing them into the arms of a new owner? That tacky dress you hate may just be someone’s dream come true!
- Involve yourself in the Ryerson community! The day of the sale itself will feature fun and socializing amongst your peers. Meet other students on campus, and their pre-loved, great priced fashionable finds!
