Mehreen Siddiqui is a first time submitter to The Continuist, and she’s sent us this lovely set of paintings. The first image depicts a collection of paintings, strung together through line and colour. The pieces work as separate entities but can also be considered at a larger scale, the space between each painting being utilized to its full potential.
The second image, an oil painting done with a palette knife, is geometrically and aesthetically reminiscent of the expressionistic works of van Gogh and Munch. Much less abstract than the former paintings, it captures the beauty and mystery of the quiet night life along an unknown street and canal.
